Summary

Supply chain management is an important part of any business sector. It is now introduced as a critical business concern. Many companies have recruited Directors and vice presidents who ensure the cost effective operation. Today supply chain controls the world where the rate of change increases. It has been said that the defeat of the British attributes to the logistic failure. The environmental factors and social aspect have become an important topic for the researchers. In Second World War, logistics also played an important role. Logistic is a planning orientation. Supply chain management deals with coordination between the suppliers and customers. Supply chain management introduces a change from traditional arm’s length. Supply chain management based on the co-operation and trust. Supply chain management depends on the management of relationship to achieve the more profitable outcome.

Logistics and supply chain management provide a source of competitive advantage. Logistic is the functional activities. Logistic may be described as the managing the flow of products from the raw materials to end customers. The reverse logistic channel comes when the customers buy something from a retailer. When a customer finds it is defective, he goes to the retailer to return the product. A single firm cannot control the entire product flow channel. Many people say the supply chain management is another name of integrated business logistic management. It is very difficult to separate the business logistic management from supply chain management. They do the same job. Logistics deal with the activities that can happen within a single organization. Supply chain deals with the company network so that it can work together to deliver a product. Logistics is based on maintenance, distribution and inventory management. Therefore, it can be summarized that management of supply chain has to be done in a proper manner for ensuring quality services to customers.

Process of developing customer relationship as well as its usage in supply chain management

Customer Relationship Management deals with managing a company’s interaction with current and future customer (Brandenburg et al. 2014). It introduces technology to organize sales, marketing, and technical support. The main purpose is creating value for the customers. When a customer gives value to the customer service which they get from the suppliers they are less interested in going to the alternative suppliers for their requirement. A relationship should be built with the customer who gives value for the service. Every company needs a good customer who can give value for the service. Each and every customer goes to a shop to buy products. A company builds their relationship with the customers. Organizations ask for feedback from customers, based on such feedback reformation in products is done The Company comes to know about the quality of their products. That is why; customer relationship takes an important role for the profit of a company. Customer relationship takes a vital role in Supply chain management. Product will be prepared according to the need of the customer. The customer is an important role in supply chain Management (Christopher, 2016). Buyers will find the suppliers, and the suppliers offer the best value. They will create a supply chain to ensure service quality. The customer is the main figure in a supply chain. Sellers’ decision depends on buyers’ opinion. If a customer finds good products organization will get profit. The buyer will go to this shop repeatedly. Thus, it affects the supply chain management.

Applying procurement as well as manufacturing activities supporting supply chain management

Procurement is the way of getting services or goods which the company needs to fulfill (Stadtler, 2015). There are so many tasks in procurement such as developing the quality of standards, investment of, mediating price, and purchasing commodities. In supply chain process procurement stops when the company possesses the commodities. It is known to us that procurement is the process of getting the goods whereas supply chain is a structure. Procurement plays a significant role in supply chain management. Procurement is comparable to secretarial work. It has become a commonplace aspect of the minor business. Strong Procurement always plays a vital role in the success of business or enterprises. Procurement can never be defined as simple order processing (Pagell & Shevchenko, 2014).

The third stage of Supply chain management is the manufacturing of goods, which are demanded by the customers. In this stage, the goods are prepared. Then it is produced, tested and packed. Thus, the goods are made ready to deliver. Now the task of supply chain manager is to schedule everything, which is needed for manufacturing, testing, and packaging. Goods are ready for delivery. This stage is described as a crucial part of the supply chain (Ross, 2013). Finally, the product is delivered to the customer. In this stage, well designed processes are implemented. The perceivable shape is given to existing plans in the structure of manufactured products.

Applying transportation and management of logistics in business of current time

Transportation and management of logistics from a base of any supply chain management system (Govindan, 2014). In present business scenario, organizations are adopting better techniques for enhancing their transportation facilities as well as logistics. This has helped in adding extra advantages in their particular business sector. Transportation includes traditional services such as air sea and land transportation. Logistic is a value added services such as technology and consulting. The products of a company go to the customers through transport. Transportation plays an important part in the business of current time. Thus, the customer gets the products. International Logistics, Global Logistics, and global supply are used interchangeable. They describe international production and transportation activities. International Logistics manages and controls overseas activities. Now-a -day’s transportation plays an important role to expand the business. Today is the world of computer and technology. It helps us to go everywhere. Now it is very easy to go from one place to another place. That is why; business can be done very easily. Within a short period, we go from one place to another place. Advanced technology eases the process of transportation of products in large amount. This makes current day business ventures to continue their process of work in a suitable manner.
